The First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) and Avenir d’enfants join forces to promote the healthy development of young First Nations children

In August 2012, the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) and Avenir d'enfants formed a partnership to encourage the mobilization of First Nation communities and organizations around the development of children from conception to age five. Under this agreement, Avenir d'enfants will provide the FNQLHSSC with financial assistance of up to $2 million annually over a period of three years, which will enable leaders of the 29 eligible communities to receive support for their efforts to realize projects to improve the living conditions of families. Three communities have already received funding, and eight others have expressed their interest in launching such a project.
