The Foundation’s Mission in Brief
Our mission is to contribute to the development and improvement of health through poverty and disease prevention by focusing primarily on children and their parents.
Our primary focus is the educational success of young Quebecers, enabling them to become independent, fulfilled parents who will be able to create a culture of personal and collective success within their family and social circle.
A recent study has shown that there is a definite link between having a high-school diploma and the health and well-being of the Quebec population. We believe that taking action early on—helping children develop healthy lifestyles—is the key to educational success and good health.
Our intervention strategy consists in mobilizing local communities and raising society awareness in the following eduaction and health initiatives:
- Promoting the optimal development (physical, psychological, cognitive and social)
of children from conception to age 17 inclusively
- Carrying out early, sustained interventions to make sure children get off to a good start at school
- Fostering healthy lifestyles in terms of nutrition and physical activity
- Encouraging student retention
- Supporting parents in their role as educators
- Helping parents become more socially and economically independent
