Who we are
In 2010, according to the Institut de la statistique du
Québec, 161,000 children under 18 (10.7%) were living in
poverty based on the Low-Income Measure (LIM) after tax. Today, too
many children are still affected by this situation.

widely shared by all members of Quebec society. Poverty is hardly a
phenomenon that is unique to Quebec, but we chose to concentrate
our efforts here, where we live, and where Videotron enjoyed the
most success. […] We are just a one small cog in the big wheel
of Quebec society. We want to work with everyone who has the best
interests of our children at heart. We want to offer something MORE
to our society."

Our mission and our approach
The mission of the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation is to
prevent poverty by contributing to the
educational success of young people living in
Quebec from conception to age 17 by helping them to develop their
full potential. The Foundation has established partnerships with
the Quebec government in order to support local and
regional mobilization in areas that are critical to
educational success: early childhood development, healthy lifestyle
habits and student retention. The Foundation also provides support
for awareness activities and tools for parents and
Quebec society as a whole.

History of the Foundation
The Chagnon family's extensive involvement in charitable causes
is concrete evidence of the deeply-help commitments that led the
family to create and play an active role in the Lucie and André
Chagnon Foundation. The first 10 years of the Foundation's activity
resulted in many different initiatives: research, projects,
partnerships, awareness activities and tools, and more.

Governance
As the Foundation considers itself a trustee of the assets it
manages, it is committed to keeping the general public fully
informed on its governance and its investment and funding policies.
Intent on maintaining transparency, the Foundation provides
pertinent information and applies rigorous standards of
