Promoting Society Awareness

To complement initiatives aimed at mobilizing communities and with a view to raising society awareness, we fund tools and provincial campaigns aimed at informing, educating and raising public awareness on the various factors behind educational success.

  • Totalmédia, a subsidiary entirely funded by the Foundation, publishes www.naitreetgrandir.net—a non-profit website with no commercial affiliations. There is no advertising on the site, and complete independence is maintained with regard to content.
    • www.naitreetgrandir.net is a Quebec website on the health and development of young children. It provides parents with objective, practical, clear and reliable information approved by experts in the field.
  • The magazine BIEN GRANDIR aims to help young parents by providing them with information tailored to their reality. Written in plain language and portraying today’s French-speaking family from a wide range of angles, BIEN GRANDIR helps parents give their children aged 0 to 5 the tools to ensure school readiness. BIEN GRANDIR, a non-profit publication, distributes more than 200,000 copies (10 issues a year). Its distribution network reinforces its value as an educational tool: daycare centres, kindergartens, family-oriented community organizations, youth centres, CLSCs, libraries, hospitals, etc.
  • We also conduct province-wide public relations campaigns to raise public awareness. The Foundation launched a massive campaign in the fall of 2009 to increase public awareness of the importance of stimulating the development of children under five to ensure school readiness. The Help them grow.com societal project is aimed at recognizing parents’ status as primary actors in the development of their children’s education maturity. The 18-month campaign included the on-lining of a new website (www.HelpThemGrow.com), an advertising campaign (radio and television), and participation in events across Quebec.
Our goal is to use prevention to help improve the lives of those around us because, as we all know, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
